Custom-made Wooden Home Goods i.e. Wall Hangings, Home Decor, Kitchen ware, Ornaments etc; hand decorated using traditional Swahili Woodcarving Art from Lamu, Kenya.
The first steps to making a commission with me, is you getting in touch with me through WhatsApp Booking or Email: swahiliwoodcarvingart@gmail.com.
From here, we would have a conversation about your vision that you would like to bring to life. I would hear your expectations with regard to the project. What is the look and feel you desire for your project at the end? What are the dimensions? What elements would you like incorporated into the design to make it truly yours? Which wood would you like to use and would be the best fit for your project? What type of finish would you like? Natural wood? Natural dyes or oils? Stains , Waxes or Paints? This would give me a solid understanding of your needs to be able to quote you correctly.
There is a waiting list which means typically a two-month waiting period before I actively start on your project. During these two months,I would have sourced the right wood for you which would be locally sourced hard woods. The wood is milled and cut to approximate size and left to air. Additionally during this time, I do research and let your vision settle for more inspirations to come forth, that will enhance the enhance the project all the more, once I actively start on it. To book a slot, 50% of the agreed price is required.
I would be in contact with you through out the process and send you updates and photos. If another upcoming project ahead of yours is cancelled or postponed, we would discuss whether you would like your project to be moved ahead or left at the original dates. If there are unforeseen delays on your project, I would let you know as soon as possible.
Once the project is made to your satisfaction, I would request the remainder of the cost + the delivery fee. Your commission is made to last you for a lifetime, with a bit of your love and care and would be brought to you using reputable courier services.
Kindly view the catalogue for previous works done for clients and be inspired by them for your bespoke commission. If you are having other designs and carvings from elsewhere, I would be very happy to recreate them for you!

1. Worldwide shipping is available. Kindly ensure to read the returns and shipping policies.
2. For commissions, 50% deposit is required before commencement of an order.
